Peter and the Wolf

December 8, 9, 14–16 2012

In what has become an annual tradition, Works & Process, at the Guggenheim Museum, worked this year with artist Will Cotton to present ten performances of Sergei Prokofiev's charming classic, Peter & the Wolf, in an original production combining the visual and the performing arts.

Will Cotton brought the 2012 production to life with a newly commissioned installation, featuring Cotton's largest painting to date (11 x 30 feet), in which the familiar characters, free-standing and hand-painted by the artist, are set within a kinetic gingerbread chalet. Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi narrated and George Manahan conducted the Juilliard Ensemble.
